Sleep and weight goals

These may be more about the Fitbit app, than the charge 5 that is collecting my data…

my sleep will sometimes be broken into 2 different entries for one night.  This makes the data more challenging to interpret.

why does the app do this?  Can I manually combine data when this does happen?

my weight goal reset for some reason.  So, I entered the weight loss goal again, but it picked up today’s date to start tracking weight loss.  So now instead of showing that I’ve dropped over 10lbs, it shows that I started weight loss today, and haven’t lost any weight yet.

Can I manually reset the start date to make my data accurate again?

played around in the app, but if these 2 resets can be done, I don’t see where to make the changes.

thanks!

Hello @BizR1 and @JasonW-1990

You can edit your sleep record to combine the two, but you may not get stages (if you didn't already).

You can edit your log by tapping on one of the logs (the shortest or, if one has stages and the other doesn't, the one without stages).  Tap the 3 dots at the top right hand corner and choose Delete Log (making sure you remember the start and end time for it).

Then, go to the other log, tap the 3 dots again, but this time, tap Edit Log.  You can then alter either the start or end time to cover the period of the one you've just deleted.

I hope that made sense.

@JasonW-1990 I'm sorry I didn't reply to your earlier request but I didn't know how to change the Weight Goal date, so couldn't help.

As wibby mentioned, you have to delete one of the sleep entries, then extend the sleep duration of the other entry.  Seems to work pretty well.

I really would like to manually change the weight loss start date though….

Hello again @JasonW-1990

I've been researching other forums and I think I found an answer!

Here's a link to it:

Change Start without losing progress

I really hope that helps!

Edited to add:

Unfortunately the information at that link turned out  not to work.

Sorry about that.

This worked, although it took a couple tries to get the date to ‘enter’ and I changed it…

wibby, the menu described in that link must have been for an older version of the app?  Didn’t make sense when I tried to implement it?  Or maybe I did it wrong, lol?

@JasonW-1990   Look closely and you will see that the thread was started in 2018, ancient by Fitbit app experience.  That path no longer existsand you did nothing wrong.

Sorry about that @JasonW-1990

I was really trying hard to help and was sent to that link by a later solved answer.

Thank you for pointing it out @LZeeW I wouldn’t like to give people bad advice and I’ve edited my reply to reflect this.

@JasonW-1990

I’m so glad you were able to finally change it! You must be delighted!
