Sleep summary graphic

Please bring back the older version of the sleep summary.

I am very disappointed with the new sleep graph. It is not user friendly and doesn't give the same detailed information about my sleep cycle. I dislike it to the point of changing to a new health tracking device.

Hello @Blue-Flower

There isn't a way to return to the previous version of the Sleep data. The change to the Sleep data is part of the Fitbit redesign that started rolling out last year. This 9to5 Google article (<-- click link) provides more information about Fitbit's future.

What sleep information are you looking for? Perhaps we can help you find it.

One of the features of the old version was the ability to pin point the exact time a sleep stage began and ended.  It also graphed the oxygen levels throughout the sleep  cycle.

Hello @Blue-Flower

You can see when each sleep stage started and ended by touching and holding on the sleep graph. This will bring up a narrow line on the graph. Then slide your finger across the graph. The text above the graph will change and show you the stage as well as start & stop times.

I'm an Android user and sliding my finger across the graph will show the different stages and times. If you are an iOS user, you may need to move down to the sleep stage that you want to review then slide across to the see the start & stop times.

To see your oxygen levels, tap on the Estimated oxygen variation tile. It will open to a new page with the oxygen graph.

Please let us know if there's any other sleep data information that you are looking for. We will help you navigate to it.

These features are not available on the new version.  I opened it today and it looks like it has been changed once again.  It is even less functional and missing sources of information; such as oxygen variation.

Hello @Blue-Flower

There's a More about your sleep section below the sleep graph which should have tiles for Estimated oxygen variation and Sleeping heart rate (restoration). When you tap on the tiles, it should open to the graphs. Do you see these tiles?

I have seen at least one user report that they are missing one of these tiles. Please let us know if you are missing one or both tiles. We may need to escalate the issue to the Fitbit team.

Hi
The Estimated oxygen variation tile is there. If I press on it, I see the
graph.
I do not have the sleeping heart rate ( restoration) tile.

Hello @Blue-Flower

I think that's the same graph that another user reported as missing. I'll see if I can find that post and double check if that's the one.

Please let me know what phone/tablet has your Fitbit app and if you have a premium subscription. This information will be helpful for escalation purposes.

Hi @Blue-Flower

I confirmed there's at least 1 other user who reported not seeing the Sleeping heart rate tile. The recommendation was to contact Fitbit support (<-- click link).

Just to let you know, Support might not be able to provide a fix and may be gathering information for a bug report. If this is the case, hopefully it wont take too long to get the issue fixed.

Thank you for the information.

Hi @Blue-Flower

I just saw a Moderator post confirming that an update for the Fitbit app, ver 4.16, has started rolling out. She confirmed it will include a fix to the Benchmark graph (some users are not seeing the shaded section). I'm hoping it will also include the fix for the missing Sleeping heart rate tile & graph.

The app updates tend to roll out in waves. Keep a watch for it.

Thank you for the update.

Hi Blue-Flower, I too am missing the exact same sleep data in my app, which is apple, not android.  I have the new update and that did not correct the problem.  I have been working with Fitbit support but so far all the things they suggested did not work.

It is so disappointing that the sleep summary graph went from extremely useful and informative to this stripped down version.  I will probably need to find a new device with a better sleep summary feature.

I feel the same. The odd thing is that a colleague of mine has all the same updates, same devise and while the new interface is  not pretty, it does have a section, in “Sleep”, underneath “Estimated oxygen variation”, called “Sleeping hear rate” which captures the previous data which I think you are looking for. My app does not have this feature. How is that possible- we have the same devise, same update and even live in the same small town…..

That is very interesting. Why does the app behave so differently among
users?

I completely agree. The new graphic seems useless. I got so much more insight from the previous format. I can't even see the individual sleep stages anymore.
