Sleeping heart rate description

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have Premium, and my sleeping heart rate is described, every single night, as ‘Restless’.

Do others get this? What other descriptors are there?

My sleeping heart does look very up and down on the graph thing too. Is this what others get? Is this normal, or should I ask my doctor about it?

Hello @RuthDuffy

I took a look at the sleep log and saw where information can be misinterpreted.

On the Restoration tile, the Sleeping Heart Rate is shown above the text as "xx% below resting". Similarly, Restless value is shown above the text as x%.  At first glance, it's easy to read the text as "Sleeping Heart Rate  Restless" rather than the explanation of the stats above the text.

Hope this makes sense to you.

That’s brilliant! So it’s not to be read across the line! 😂😘 - I do understand! It's supposed to be like 2 columns? - it's weird because the font size / boldness or something, makes it look as if you should read it across! Thank you. R x

You're welcome @RuthDuffy .

When I looked at it, it was easy to see how it could be misread, if one goes across instead of seeing 2 columns. I'm glad we were able to clear up the confusion.

Thank you!
Having sorted out that misunderstanding, now I want to ask the question as to whether other people’s night time heart rate does look erratic and quite up and down during the night - especially on their premium sleep record?

Hi @RuthDuffy

Great question! I took a look at my heart rate charts and saw that it does go up & down quite a bit during the night. To me, that seems normal. Our heart rate will change as we transition through the various sleep stages. It would make sense to me that my heart rate could increase during REM, especially if I'm having a not so pleasant dream. As long as my RHR is within my personal range, I don't think there's anything to worry about. If my night time RHR consistently goes outside of my personal range, I would reach out to my doctor and get her opinion on it.
