Step Counter Useless - How do you remove it?

This is my first purchase of a FitBit. I bought a charge 5 and was so excited in getting to use it, than realized the step counter is totally off, useless as a matter of fact. This doesn't do anything for me and my logs are basically... a lie. Is there an option to remove this app?

Hello @SunsetRunner

In addition to the great information @SebWotan gave, you can also switch your main goal that’s celebrated to something else.

From the Today Screen in your App, tap your profile picture then Charge 5.  Select Main Goal and switch it to something you are more interested in like Calories, Distance or Active Minutes.  That way the Step information just becomes incidental rather than the main focus.

In the Today Screen on your App, you can also tap Edit and it looks like there’s an option to remove the Tile for Steps there.  The Fitbit will still measure them but they won’t be all over your dashboard anymore.  You could always add them back later if you change your mind.

Hello @SunsetRunner

There is no option to remove the Step counter in Fitbit.

Did you look at your Settings to make sure that the Arm (dominant or not) is correctly set, if not the step counter might be wrong.

I would choose your main daily goal to be something other than steps. The tile displaying the main goal can not be er minced.

I haven't tried, but let's say, setting active minutes as tye main goal, may allow the removal of the step tile.
