Step Tracker Inconsisten

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have had the Charge 5 for over a year.  One day I can do an elliptical and get 7500 steps.  The next day, same work out, same pace, same time and get 5500 steps.  I wear the tracker the same way on both workouts - same position, same tightness.  Because of this inconsistency I will not buy another Fitbit.

This might not explain your case, but remember step count depends on hand/wrist movement, since it really can't sense your legs.  If one time you rested your hand on something stationary part of the time and the other time kept it on moving handles all the time, that could explain it.

Also, even if step count if different, the more important heart rate and calorie burn should be similar.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
