Hi,

Just started using a Charge 5. My step count numbers are odd. Today it buzzed to say that I had reached my 7000 goal but had recorded 9300 on the device, (which was too high as I hadn't had a very active day). Any ideas as to why?

Hello @Dcello

One possibility is the wrist setting.  Do you wear it on your dominant or non-dominant wrist?  Have you set that in your settings in the App?

If you tap your profile picture from the Today screen on your App, then Charge 5, you can see Wrist.  It might be worth checking if it matches the way you wear it.  If it’s on your dominant hand you might be getting extra steps from brushing your teeth etc…

I hope that helps a bit.

Thanks Wibby,

I wear it on my non dominant hand. After reading through other posts I have set to dominant in the app to see
that makes a difference.

What I don't understand is why I received a buzz notification to say that I had reached 7000 steps when the step count was at 9300!

Hello again @Dcello

There might some kind of delay between the tracker and the phone App sometimes.

I’ve had a few cases where I’ve reached my goal on my tracker and it buzzed, then it did it again later when I synced with my phone.

It also might be worth doing a restart on your tracker as it can help fix small problems sometimes.  From the Clock Face scroll down to Settings, tap, then scroll up to Restart Device and follow the instructions.

It may not make any difference but it might work.

Good luck!
