Steps counted in app different than on Charge 5

I have a iPhone.

For the past several days the app is counting way more steps than my charge 5 on the dashboard but if I click on the steps to get into the steps data the steps are matching.

why is the dashboard over counting steps sometimes by over 1000 more than my watch?

right now my watch say 3647, app says 4286.  But if I click on the steps to go into steps data, it matches my watch 3647.

Hello, @Kmgrx Welcome to the community.

I appreciate for letting me know about this situation with the steps tracked by your phone and your Charge 5. My best recommendation would be to stop tracking your steps using your phone, you can access this article to know more about this.

Also, Fitbit devices use a 3-axis accelerometer to count your steps, this means that Fitbit uses a different technology than your cellphone, this is why they both are counted differently, when you go to the steps data, it will match with the steps counted in your Charge 5.

Thanks for your comprehension and efforts!
