Steps didn't sync, support no help

I was out of range of my phone during my workout yesterday. When I came back to my phone and tried to sync my Charge 5, it didn't work. I'm used to having to reset the Charge 5 in the charger at least once a week for this very reason, so I did that. It seemed to be syncing, but instead of adding the 7000 steps I'd just done and the exercise, it added about 500 steps and no record of exercise/zone minutes/calories.

At exactly midnight, it was showing my steps in real time, so it was clearly already connected and synced up.

But yesterday's steps never arrived.

I contacted the live chat and they told me the steps were visible on their end, but then started trying to explain the technology to me like I was expecting too much (and by "too much" I mean being able to walk out of range of my phone and have it sync up when I return 2hrs later).

They said they could see the data on their end, so clearly it synced with the server somewhere. I just want it to sync to the app/my dashboard. If this was a one-off I'd let it go but it's most weeks now, just losing a whole day of data.

It was clearly connected at the time as it was able to start logging new steps right at midnight. Yesterday's data is just lost in the ether somewhere.

This has happened far too often lately. Anyone else in a similar situation?
