Steps while sleeping Charge 5

So here's a cool bug. Between 12:45 and 1:00 last night my Charge 5 recorded that I took 26,486 steps. Not a bad workout for 15 min if I do say so.

Weirder still, it also recorded me as being asleep during that time with only one minute of being awake at 12:57.

I thought that surely this was an error with my phone, but my step counter on the watch is actually what's off. My step counters on the phone all agree those steps didn't happen.

So what do you think? Sleep marathoner?

Welcome to the Community forums, @noelh

Thank yo for all the details about the inconvenience you experienced with your Charge 5.

Something similar could happen if you're sleeping close to something that could emit a certain vibration, like a window, a fan or other type of machine. However, it's an unusually large amount of steps in such a short period of time. If you haven't done so already, please complete a three pulse restart and let me know if you continue to experience the same behavior afterwards:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end of the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

In the meantime, the only way to negate these extra steps would be to manually log a driving activity, as this would override the data tracked during that time. Let me know if you continue to experience this problem afterwards.

I'll be around.
