I appreciate the information provided about this issue with your Charge 5. 

This message usually appears on the screen when you need to set up the device again. If you haven't done so already, please try removing the Charge 5 from your Fitbit account and then set it up as a new device. If you continue to see this message and it doesn't allow you to complete the set up, please try restarting your device first using the charging cable: 

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end of the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.
