@DavideFitbit @LizzyFitbit @YojanaFitbit Fitbit moderators, I'm looking for your suggestions... I received a replacement pebble today as a result of firmware version 1.171.50 bricking my previous Charge 5. That Charge 5 had firmware version 1.149.11 when I upgraded it to 1.171.50. The pebble that I received today has firmware version 1.142.37 installed. I now have a Charge 5 that is missing features that my original one had. I'm hesitant to update the firmware to brick another device and go through the annoying cycle again with customer service to get a replacement. After all the problems that have been reported, I feel that this unit should have been sent with the latest version of firmware, and tested to ensure it doesn't exhibit any of the problems that have been reported.
What would you do if you had this Charge 5? If you suggest that I update the firmware, and if it bricks again, can you help speed up the replacement cycle?
--------------
@DavideFitbit @LizzyFitbit @YojanaFitbit I decided to update the replacement pebble firmware to 1.171.50. I charged the battery to 100% and 10 hours later it's down to 93%. Right now, I will consider it a successful update. My previous pebble didn't make it through the night without draining the battery. It looks like this one will. Just wanted to update you with my experience. The update was with a Google Pixel 6a.
Update after 24 hours - battery is at 88%. Seems to be a successful update!

Hi, it's good to see you around the Community forums, @delawareBirder.
I just saw your post, but I can confirm that it's generally recommended to always have the latest firmware update installed. Users with older firmware versions may experience other issues, like data not syncing for example. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience and feedback about the update. It's great to know that your device is working properly now.
Thanks again for all the information and feedback provided about this! See you around in the Community. 😁
