Hello,
I went for a hike yesterday covering 28000 steps. On return I found that the charge 5 was not working properly. It appeared that it could no longer track heartrate and I could not roll my wrist to turn on the screen. Also, I noticed that the battery had died to almost zero when I should have had 4 or 5 days left.
I managed to charge the fitbit to 100% but heartrate and other sensors did not work. Also the battery went from 100% to 0 in about 2 to 3 hours.
Also on inspecting the detector area of the watch I found that the metal plate surrounding the sensors was loose and easily came off. I suspect sweat has caused this.
A note for Fitbit. Use materials and adhesives that are not effected by sweat. I know that this is a big call because salt is detrimental to many materials.
Is there any way that my Charge 5 can be brought back to full health? In its present state it is unusable and only good for recycling its parts. I hope so as the Charge 5 is a brilliant piece of technology but there is room for improvement.
Thanks,
