Sweat/Sun Lotion behind the sensor glass

Hi. About an hour into a coastal walk with friends yesterday, my Charge5 went dark, except for the green sensor light on the back, and occasional red. When I got home I tried to do a restart with the charger and got a short buzz and logo, then nothing. I tried again a few hours later and got same, followed for a few moments by the watch face, since then nothing.

Looking at the sensors on the back there are beads of water inside the sensors. This could be sweat or sweat/sun lotion combination. Fitbit has been in bag of desiccant crystals since then, and the beads of moisture haven't budged.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

also, the metal surround for the sensors is a bit loose, which I've never noticed before and could be related

a day later, and I was getting streaky screen flashes - which are really difficult to get a photograph of - followed by black screen

a couple of days later and it was totally dead, it doesn't even buzz when I plug it in.

Fitbit was only 13 months old when this happened.

I don't know if this was entirely down to moisture or whatever, I was using assisted GPS at the time, and I've a vague idea that that's made my Fitbit go funny before, maybe it was Charge3. Can they overheat?
