I recently bought Charge 5 for better tracking my Swim, Cycle, Run activities, however after first 2 days in the pool swimming it begins to act strange and on 3rd day it was malfunctioning, keep vibrating with black screen, no data were shown, then i read some comments on community and the most bizzare/crap one was from fitbit itself. common this is a swim tracker as well don't tell if it gets wet then wipe it or dry it, SERIOULSY..
"The charge 5 is sold as a swim tracker. It is designed to be submerged in water. Many of us use it to track swimming on a regular basis. There is no need to dry it off after it gets wet. If it does not function after being submerged in water it is clearly defective."

I was using a much cheaper brand for my daily swim tracking and it never had any issues in water, then i upgraded to Fitbit 5 and after 3 days getting this swim tracking issues, i think i made a bad decision.

Of all things, now you must swipe down from the main screen and engage the water lock. This even applies to showers now.

Hi, @Desert.Maverick, welcome, I've used my Charge 5 for daily swimming without any problems. We have two options for recording swimming, from the clock screen swipe right or left to the exercise icon & then swipe up to reach swim, touch the swim icon, note the little chevron at the bottom of the "start arrow screen", a further swipe up gives you pool length & metres/yards options. Return to the start arrow & touch it to start the session. On finishing touch the pause icon to get the option to finish your swim. My preferred option is to rely on the auto recognise feature (I wear reading glasses & can't be bothered with fiddling about at the poolside) Go into the Fitbit app "Today" scene>touch your icon in the top right>settings>exercise>swimming>ensure the Auto-recognize" slider is in the "on" position, set the "Swims longer than" value as you desire & then SAVE. Return to the Today screen & sync. This will check you have the auto-recognise feature you need set as active. If you use the "exercise" method the water lock engages but you will not see an HR record in the Fitbit app after your swim. If you use the auto-recognise feature you should set the water lock before getting in the pool to avoid any screen touch problems, your record of the swim will include HR. Note that at the time of writing, there are issues with the Editing of exercises, this has been escalated & is receiving attention, we are waiting for an update from Fitbit.
If your Charge 5 is still crashed you should restart it following the demonstration in this video at 1:30. You may also be interested in this article Why won't my Fitbit device sync? - Fitbit Help Center
I hope this helps but if you are still stuck please post here again.
Cheers
