Why does the Charge 5 Swimming tracker not record bpm? Since it continuously tracks bpm when running or cycling why not swimming?

The heart rate tracking is disabled during swimming.

There are devices available that will specifically work with swimming.

Fitbit doesn't eplain the reason of their choices. In the past a suggestion was made for this specific request but turned down. You can still vote for it however.

I have read that the water affects the accuracy of the heart rate tracking.
