First time post here but long time reader of other threads. I have a query about the accuracy of energy use from my Charge 5 while swimming. Occasionally I walk half an hour to work and did so on Monday. Each trip used about 1500kJ for a sum of around 2900kj (700 cal) for an hour of exercise.
This afternoon I swam 1.7km for 52 mins, and it credit me with 1700kJ, an energy consumption rate less than walking. Knowing how hard my heart rate is going at the end of the workout, I find that very hard to believe, and as a 120kg guy trying to shed kilos, it’d be pretty disheartening if that was accurate. Most online calculators credit me with 3500-4000 kJ for such a session.
is there something in the settings that I may have missed for it to credit me with a more accurate energy consumption reading?
Also, it does NOT auto detect seining if that’s relevant. If I don’t select and start a swimming workout, it doesn’t register it at all.
