Sync Not Updating Sleep in the App

Starting this morning (3/27/2023) my Fitbit app is not syncing my sleep data. Everything else syncs correctly and updates, but sleep does not. I have restarted my Charge 5 twice, turned off Bluetooth and force quit the app six plus times, restarted my phone, deleted and reinstalled the app, and done these in random orders to try and get my sleep to update. No such luck. What's going on and how do I fix this? Sleep tracking is the biggest reason I got a Fitbit in general. Guess I'll be taking my money elsewhere if this isn't resolved soon.

I appreciate all the information that you've shared about the difficulty you're experiencing with your Charge 5.

In case the sleep information is not being recorded, keep in mind that there are some factors that may prevent your tracker from recording your sleep. Please make sure of the following:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device as described in this help article.
  • If you slept for less than 1 hour for sleep patterns or less than 3 hours for sleep stages.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For the restart procedure that you mentioned, make sure it's the restart using the charging cable and not the restart available on the device's settings. In addition, you can also try setting up your Charge 5 as a new device in your account. Then check if you're able to see your sleep information again.
