Watch stuck in Run exercise mode,

Charge 5 is stuck in Run exercise mode.  Tried to uninstall to free up the watch, but there is no option to uninstall.

I take it that you tried to end your run workout and it won't respond to your tap. 

See if you can restart your Charge 5 using the charging cable that came with your device. If you would like instructions on how to do that, click on this link: How to restart the Charge 5 

Hopefully, restarting your Charge 5 will get it unstuck.

That is what I ended up doing, and it worked! The odd thing is Run was not
checked as one of my exercise shortcuts.

You're welcome and thanks for letting us know that you were able to fix the issue. 

Even though Run wasn't checked as one of your exercise shortcuts, I suspect it is enabled as Auto-recognized. To confirm:

  • Tap on the Exercise tile in the Fitbit app
  • Tap on the 3 dots in the upper right of the Exercise page, then tap Activity settings
  • On this page, you'll see the current 7 Auto Recognized Exercises
  • You can tap on each exercise to change the minimum time for your device to recognize the activity and start tracking. The default is 15+ minutes, the minimum is 10+ minutes. You can also tap on the activity and select Ignore.

Changing the minimum time to a longer time or selecting Ignore should prevent your Charge 5 from automatically tracking your movement as a Run.
