Charge 5 wouldn't come out of water lock mode. It would vibrate intermittently but screen was unresponsive. Battery was drained within one hour. After chargng, it was still unresponsive but would flash a message to "Add Card. Go to Fitbit mobile app and add a card to your wallet". The incessant vibrating is very annoying and continues to drain the battery. I have restarted the device. I have unpaired and re-established connection to the app. Nothing is making the notification nor the incessant vibrating cease. Has anyone had any luck?

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @Dblmnttwn!
Sad to hear that you're having issues with your Charge 5. Although you've mentioned that you've already tried restarting your device, I'd suggest to give it another try closely following these instructions as timing is crucial for this procedure and it sometimes needs two attempts:
1.) Connect your Charge 5 to the charging cable which has to be connected to a power source.
2.) Press the button located on the flat end of the charging cable 3 times within 8 seconds(!), holding each press for about 1 second(!).
3.) Wait around 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears on your device's display.
If this won't work for you, you could run the battery of your Charge 5 completely down and give it a full charge for several hours afterwards.
As a final resort, please contact Fitbit support to get further assistance:

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately, I have already tried those steps. My Charge 5 will no longer charge. Support deemed it a hardware issue. Just for reference, the device was in water lock mode. It began giving the Add Card notification while still in water lock. It's as if it was in an infinite loop. Restarting, unpairing, etc did not bring it out of the locked state. The battery was drained. I recharged it for several hours. It did work in a limited capacity today but the battery will no longer charge at this point.
