My Fitbit arm is in a cast and I can’t wear the device. Any suggestions?

@Readersue   Many users wear their Fitbits on their ankles for various reasons.  Some people can't wear anything below their elbows at work.  Some will do it while running with a jogging stroller.  I've played around with mine on my ankle just to see how well it works.  My step counts seem reasonable.  I also got my heart rate trace.  I would wear it about an inch or so above my inside ankle bone.  I have small wrists and skinny ankles.  I am able to get a good fit with the large band.  Amazon sells third party band extenders.  There are several models available.

I had an arm cast many years ago, long before Fitbit.  My fingers hurt at first, but I was able to use them more after a little time.  You might be able to wear your Fitbit on your other wrist soon.  Get well soon.

Switch arms, but that's so obvious you must have thought of that.

No can do as fingers on Fitbit arm are locked in place. And they hurt. 🥴

Put it in a pocket to still get steps, even if not heart rate or associated metric such as sleep and AZM?

Thanks. I’m using the Fitbit as part of a year long health study. I could maybe figure out how to count steps.
It doesn’t seem reliable to use my dominant hand - I’m using it so much more just now. Is there good data if I somehow using it on an ankle. Just tape it on. 😁😁
Perhaps I can ask someone with the study if they want only steps or as much as can be recorded.
Don’t like not being able to fulfill my participation.

Thanks so much. Very helpful info. I do have a large band. I’ll try it or I was thinking, old reliable duct tape. 😁😁

Hi @Readersue

Although MacGyver often used duct tape to help him out of his sticky situations, I'm not sure that would be the best option for you. 😉

If you want to try taping your Fitbit to your ankle, consider using some kind of medical tape instead. There's paper surgical tape and a self adhesive stretchy bandage wrap that would be good options. Also, the bandage wrap is available in different colors, not just beige. Both are designed to be used on skin.
