White Screen on Charge 5

I woke up to my charge 5 fitbit device blinding me with white light instead of showing me the time. Every time I double-tap it or turn it towards me it blinds me with light and never displays anything else.

I have reset my device according to the push-button method once plugged into the charger, but it still restarts with the same white screen.

The charge 5 fitbit still records my heartrate on the app on my phone as well as other data such as sleep. This leads me to believe that the screen itself has become defective yet the device itself is still functioning. How do I go about getting a replacement device or repair of my device's screen? I am very careful and have never damaged my device.

Thanks for letting me know about this situation with the Charge 5 screen.

My best recommendation would be following these steps, please:

- Sync your Charge 5.
- Restart the Charge 5 following the steps here.
- Change the clock face of the Charge 5.

• Syncing was never an issue and I have been doing that routinely anyway.
• I've restarted my device numerous times to the best of my ability (with the button and without being able to see the screen).
• Changing the clock face does nothing at all.

Just to clarify, the screen goes bright white and grainy suggesting an electrical problem. I stopped wearing it in the shower despite it being "waterproof" after a week of it being dry, the screen has returned to normal and functions just as it regularly does.

I am convinced that this product is not waterproof and should never be used while swimming or in the shower. Very disappointing.

Welcome back, @Vitric, thanks for the information you've given me, it is really helpful.

Can you let me know if you can see condensation in your Charge 5, please? The Charge 5 is designed to be waterproof, if you have any situation with it once you've used it in the shower or after swimming while wearing it, you can let us know like now.
