Why floor counter option is not available on Charge 5

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have read all of the Q & A about the floor counter and that someone at FITBIT decided not to include this option, even though the Icon for it is ON MY WATCH

WOULD someone please explain why this option is not available, but still shows up on my watch?

WOULD someone please let me know that with all of the questions and comments here on the CHARGE 5 forum about this issue, when it will be added to my watch. Preferably in the next update.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH,

Maureen

The Charge 5 does not have the required hardware altimeter so stairs cannot be added, though I don't see an icon for stairs on the watch.  Could you perhaps be mistaking that icon for something else?

Thank you JohnnyRow. This is a screenshot from my phone showing the floors icon.  This is why I think/thought the option would be available to me on my Charge5.

Thank you for responding!  Maureen

@starkeyclan   I asked a moderator about this.  A few users with a different model were asking why they could choose something that wasn't available on their model, either.  Imagine this scenario for you -- you upgraded from a Charge 4 and have floor data in your account.  You tap on this tile in the new app to get to your historic floor data.  The path to find this information as more complicated in the older app version.

@JohnnyRowis right.  The Charge 5 doesn't have the hardware to count floors.  Fitbit can't add it.  You should tap the pencil icon in the upper right to edit your choices and remove this icon.  I hope my explanation helps.

Thank you very much for responding.  It is a bit disappointing. I go up and down stairs many times throughout the day.  My old fitbit did count my stairs.

have a Lovely day!

I was a bit confused that you stressed the icon for stairs was on your watch, but the screen shot showed it on the phone app rather than the watch.  No matter now.  Common complaint not having stairs on the Charge 5 - I certainly understand your disappointment.

Yes, you are correct. The floor icon is on my iPhone app and I expected the watch and the iPhone matched up. Then I got to choose what was important for me. The floor counter was important to me.

Yes, imagine my disappointment.
