I clean as a job and decided to set my Fitbit charge 5 on workout when I was cleaning and it makes such a difference to my calories and zone minutes. It's so much more than if I do exactly the same thing, but don't set it on workout. Does anyone know why and which is more accurate? Obviously I'm hoping it's when it's set to workout, as I burn loads of calories. Thanks 😁.

Great question! Here's my guess: When you put your tracker into workout mode, it starts using the algorithms where the device monitors movement and heart rate. Your heart rate will determine whether you're below Fat Burning or in Fat Burning, Cardio, Peak zones. I remember reading that your Zone minutes are doubled when you're in Cardio or Peak zone. The workout algorithms also calculate the rate of energy burned, which you won't see in normal non-workout mode.
Doing cleaning is definitely a workout for your body. I think you should continue to put your tracker in workout mode when you're doing your job so you get full credit for all the hard work you do. 👍 💪

Nice! Heres my take: its innacurate the entire day and night and only prioritizes accuracy when you click Workout. Fitbit is rediculous thinking this is ok, why not make the clock inaccurate

Or complain, and tell the maker to make it a good working product. Were settling for trash

Yeah me too, im going to look at wahoo or whoop, or another tracker, this technology has become widely available and one of these companies have to have enough morality to run adequate research and development to know when a product sucks or isnt ready.
