I accidentally wore my Charge 5 during an MRI. Now it seems to be dead. Anything I can do?

I have never had an issue while wearing my Fitbit during an MRI, and that is several MRIs with three different Fitbits.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Lmulligan, @Beejaya. Thank you for sharing your experience with wearing your Charge 5 during a MRI.
All Fitbit trackers contain ferromagnetic materials that may be attracted to an MRI. So far we don't have information on damaged trackers. If exposed directly, the only thing that might happen is that it may temporarily interfere with your trackers ability to sense your steps. However our recommendation is to not use the Fitbit tracker in the vicinity of an MRI.
Thank you for sharing what happened when you wore your Fitbit during several MRIs.

In the MRI My Fitbit buzzed on my wrist so I called the operator who removed it. She said I would probably need re charging. But the Fitbit is no longer magnetized and will not stick to its charger. Would fitbit like to examine my now dead Fitbit? I will done mine for science

Thanks for gettig back to us @Jobowen. I'm sorry to hear about your Fitbit.
Fitbit warranty doesn't cover user damage. It's recommended to avoid getting electronic devices into the MRI machines, I have had to remove every metallic object on my body and electronic device on every MRI I have gotten. We really appreciate the good intentions.

I'm shocked they even let you into the machine wearing it. My MRI tech even noticed I had a hair tie around my wrist and made sure it didn't have any metal. (It didn't, but I also fully intended to leave it on the counter with my locker key during the MRI, even if the tech hadn't said anything.) There were also multiple signs about not wearing anything metallic near the machine, including a scary picture of burns that can happen.

@Beejaya I think you got very lucky with your previous Fitbits. But the ECG hardware has a lot of stainless steel. Also many older models use a clip on charger. The Charge 5, like many newer models, has a magnetic charger. There are magnets in the device and the charger. The Charge 5 is not MRI friendly.
