just wanted to let the buyer beware  DON'T BUY A CHARGE 5 FITBIT. The battery life , if you chose to use the  programs that the watch offers, only lasts 3 day maximum.  That should be stated on the description of this watch. You must turn off GPS and  and setting display to get maybe 4 days of battery life. I have used other fitbits in the past 4 years with no issues. Fitbit would not offer me an exchange or replacement. I did buy on amazon only 4 months ago. I will see what they will do.

Hi, @exercise1234 , while it is true that the battery on the Charge 5 will last “up to” 7 days, obviously your mileage may vary, depending on which features you use, and this is clearly stated under “specs” and presumably would be understood by most people…. This is true of all similar products.  For example, it is well known that GPS takes a lot of battery capacity…as do some of the other advanced features of the Charge 5.

Added to that, you will find that modern lithium batteries will have a much longer over all lifespan if you charge them little and often rather than regularly allowing them to drop into deep discharge (try to avoid regularly going well below 20%).

Many people find that they can keep their Fitbits going if they pop them onto the charger for 10-15 minutes while they are showering or getting ready in the morning, or watching television in the evening.  Your Fitbit will always be ready to go, and it will work well for much longer too!
