has there been an update that has changed the zone minute count? I've had this device for more than a month and the zone minutes seemed to accumulate after a heartrate of 100bpm. After a restart, in an effort to regain the vibration notice for hourly step count, it now begins gaining zone minutes at 80bpm.
I'm an old guy and my daily zone minutes were averaging about 50 per day. I normally need to exert myself somewhat to gain zm's. Now, if I get up to get a piece of cake, I begin gathering zm's. Last evening after a brisk one mile walk on the treadmill I totaled nearly 120 zm's. I ended with 180zm's. I sat in my recliner after my walk (after midnight when the count restarted) and gained 68 more zm's...while sitting. I kept getting vibration notices that I was getting zone minutes.
Has my fitbit gone rogue, is my heart going to explode, or is this the new normal?

Hello @tnutt1105
They're based on your fitness level, age and resting heart rate. They can change every day if your resting heart rate changes.
If you tap on Zone Minutes in the App on your phone, it will show your Heart Rate Zones for that day. If they're wildly off it might be worth checking your profile to make sure your age is entered correctly and wear your Charge 5 at night so it can measure your resting heart rate. If you go into Cardio or Peak, you earn double minutes, so your exercise time might be 10 minutes, but you could be credited with 20 if you were working hard.
It might also be worth restarting again and checking all of your settings in case something got changed by accident when you were setting up the hourly step count alerts.
I hope that helps a bit.

hey Wibby,
I understand all of that. Evidently it used base numbers at first and after analyzing my activities has customized my target heartrates with regard to zone minutes.
UPDATE...after charging the device it now has changed once again. It now begins counting zone minutes at 94bpm.
I'm not sure which is more confused, me or the fitbit.
