getting notifications not working

I have a Charge 5 and have it associated with Google and get text notifications.  My wife also has one not yet associated with Google and doesn't get notifications.  Have searched for how to make this work but the screens and menus don't look quite like the videos I have found.  Does she need to associate with google for this to work?  Other downsides besides them having your data (I am aware of that)?

I don't think your wife needs to migrate her account to Google to get notifications... at least not yet.

This page has the recommended troubleshooting steps to try: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit (<-- click link). Hopefully, the troubleshooting will get her notifications working.

Something to consider: Since you've migrated your Fitbit account to Google and your wife hasn't yet, she might want to consider migrating. When she does, you should be able to see each other's progress, if that's something you're interested in doing.
