I walk a lot with my grandson in his buggy. I track my exercise days but walking with a buggy is not being recorded as exercise. Steps are being recorded but not the exercise. Can anyone help?

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @SanJHin68!
To have your Charge 5 recognize your steps and tracking those appropriately, the arm you're wearing your device an has to move in certain patterns. So in order to let your device track your steps you could try to push your grandson's buggy with the other hand, being carefully of course to always have control over it.

I find that my steps are not counted accurately at all when I'm pushing a stroller or grocery cart. So I started putting my fitbit in my pocket when doing these activities. I'm not sure if they are counted as exercise, though, since there will not be a corresponding HR.

Hello @SanJHin68
If you are relying on the auto-recognize feature to start the exercise session, the default time is 15+ minutes of continuous movement before your Fitbit starts tracking. You can reduce the time to 10+ minutes or you manually start & stop tracking your walk as an exercise.
To decrease the default time for auto-recognize:

I had the same issue with my treadmill. It was tracking my steps because I hold on. Put the tracker in your pocket or clipped to your waist and you will get your steps
