App is not correctly recording hourly steps

For the past month or so, the app doesn't always register the fact that I have moved 250 or more steps in a given hour. As an example, today I had 250 steps between 9 and 10 AM. The watch shows the bar indicating that I did, but the app does not. The app recorded every hour since then but not the first one. It isn't always the first one of the day. I've also seen it miss one of more at other times of the day. This is very frustrating because the history is wrong when I look back.

Hi @djdognut, Thanks for stopping by, I hope you're doing well.

Let me help you with the discrepancy in steps your Charge 6 and your Fitbit app are showing.

In my point of view, it would seem that the issue is related to syncing. When you see this discrepancy, attempt to launch a manual sync by swiping down the home screen of the Fitbit app. For more details see How do Fitbit devices sync their data? > How do I manually sync my tracker or watch?

If it's no the case, please share a screenshot of the Fitbit app the in the first hour after syncing and one picture of your tracker showing your step conting.

The exact same thing is happening to me.  I move every hour, and even get the extra notification because I have 250 steps for 12 of 12 hours, but when I look at the app at the end of the day, one random hour is missing.

Your suggested fix does nothing & I’ve reported it multiple times to Fitbit & get no real feedback.

Does nothing to fix the previous stated issues. @DavidFitbit

I agree. I just had the same issue again yesterday.. It recorded correctly for 5 hours in a row, then it missed an hour, recorded the next hour then missed an hour then correctly recorded the next 3 hours. This has absolutely nothing to do with syncing. It has to do with whatever changes were made right before I first submitted the issue. I have been using Fitbit for about 10 years and never had this issue before.

I've had the same problem multiple times.  I cancelled my Premium in protest.  It happened just this morning.  I saw that my synch between 0800 to 0900 wasn't correct on my iPhone App versus my Charge 6 watch.  I synched it multiple times, got more steps, closed and opened the app, then even removed the app, reloaded it to no avail.  Lost an hour on the App showing no 250 hour steps.  The rest of the day has been normal.  You all have a bug somewhere in your software which long time users like me (15 years?) are increasingly getting frustrated with.  The Charge 6 is fairly new (3 months) and its happened more with this device than any others.  Very frustrating indeed.  DJDOGNUT - thanks for posting.  Lots of us experiencing the same problem.

Ditto. Very frustrating. I’ve tried manual sync and nothing works to correct it. My Fitbit device is celebrating my 12 hour at 250 step accomplishment and my phone app says “Nope, you really only did 11”.

I too am having the exact same problem.  The Charge HR 6 reflects correctly, but randomly some days it does not reflect it on the app.  Very frustrating!

This did not happen until I got the HR 6.

It happened again today.  Very annoying.  I am close to cancelling my premium as well.

this is a screenshot of the hourly step count in the app and a picture of the hourly step count on my charge 6. After syncing them and restarting both the charge 6 and phone.

Since non of us on this page are fitbit tech, the best we can do is give suggestions, some of which have helped us, or others. My thought would be to contact support
