Neither the solid color nor the sport accessory I purchased band stay on the device. Is there a trick I'm missing? Thanks!

Hi @SplitYoFace - there shouldn't be any issues with the supplied bands (mine connect fine), but I have issues with my 3rd-party bands (all of them have a problem staying connected to the top of the Charge 6). I have to hold the end into the Charge 6 and push the release latch toward the middle of the unit (opposite of releasing it) until I get a 'click'. Works for me, but sometimes it takes a couple tries. Several folks I have suggested this to aren't having any luck, though, so it's not a foolproof trick.

When I ordered my Charge 6 a week ago from Amazon, I ordered a few different 3rd party bands as well, as I really hate those "tuck under" bands that come with the watch. I ordered a set of 3 stretchy bands and a dressier metal band. None of them would stay attached. They would feel secure when I tugged on them but would snap off on one side or the other while putting it around my wrist. After several tries for each band I gave up, figuring it was just a case of badly made 3rd party bands. I went to reattach the original Fitbit band—and now it wouldn't stay on either. So it's very likely poor design on the part of Fitbit.
I did, however, eventually manage to get it to stay on by pushing the clasps back toward the watch. (They don't seem to snap back automatically and that's what I was expecting.) After a few tries I got the hang of it, so I was able to attach the 3rd party bands after all. It does usually take several tries to finally get them to stay on, though. But once they're on they're on.
Searching the forum to see if others were experiencing this, I noticed the same complaints about the bands with the Charge 5, and since the 2 watches have identical bands, that's on Fitbit for not improving the band design between the 5 and 6 as the complaints surely must've brought the issue to their attention.

Yes, I also discovered through trial and error that pushing the clasps in helps secure the band, but it takes several attempts to get it to work. I don't get a "click", though. I have to keep pushing the clasp in and then tugging on the band to test it until it finally stays on. Because of that, I don't have a lot of confidence that it's going to stay on and half expect it to pop loose at some point during my workout. Hasn't happened yet, though (I've had my Charge 6 a week). Annoying. Fitbit really needs to figure out a better design, especially since this issue was present with the Charge 5 as well.

Try reversing the bands to opposite sides of the watch and see if that helps. The Charge 5 bands do NOT fit the Charge 6 bands regardless. They fit on one side and do not necessarily fit on opposite sides whether the bands are 3rd party or not! Best of luck with the FitBit product.
