Battery life

The battery is dead within a day and a half. It said 1 week battery life. What’s wrong?

Hi @Goldman0731 -- if you are using "always on display" you can expect two days or less. In my experience, an hour on device GPS or Dynamic GPS along with normal daily activity will also drain the battery by about 50% in a day. My normal use is "all day display" OFF, screen brightness at 'dim' and any GPS activities using 'connected GPS.' I usually get about 18K steps or so, the device will autodetect several walks. (I've turned off autodective for bikes because I bike commute and have a bike computer for tracking that). I also wear it at night for sleep tracking and readiness score etc., and under those conditions I lose 20-25% a day. So, for me, 4-5 days would be about max, but since I put it on the charger every night while I get ready for bed, it is never an issue.

I have a similar problem. Lasts less than 3 days. I have to put it back on the charger… hit the charge 6 reset button 3 times for 1 second each. Then I wait for the Fitbit logo to come up and then wait 3 minutes and check the charge %.. says 36%. So my conclusion is my charge 6 dies when it still has a 36% charge in it.

@SpearC -since restart doesn’t appear to be helping and you got an indication that the battery isn’t really flat when it turns off, I would either exchange it if in the return window or contact help.

Same issue - I changed to Charge 6 from Charge 4 a month ago - I am charging it every 2/3 days even though I turned off always on display and uninstalled a lot of the apps hoping it would save the battery life.
I bought it hoping for a better battery life and the new features and can’t use any of the new features - the watch spends more time on the charger than on my wrist.

My charge 6 battery runs out in 4 days , (same usage pattern as my charge 5 which could last 7-8 days ) . Has fitbit over engineered ? I realized the new watch track exercise pacing automatically and this feature cannot be turned off ( according to help desk agent) . This is probably the cause of the shorter battery life for me . Request Fitbit to deploy a system fix to disable or allow users to opt out of auto tracking of exercise pace .

Its getting worse, Died after 2 days. I put it on the charger, Reset it and then left it on the charger for 30sec...checked battery level... now says 62% charged.

I'm not happy. My charge 4 and 5 were much better. It's too late for the refund but I did get the warrantee. I'll return it for one that works as advertised. Now i just have to figure out the warrantee process...

I wonder if Charge 6 will eventually have the same battery drain problem as Charge 5 since it's almost the same device. I'm monitoring the reviews/feedback, this was a long time problem with Charge 5, I would want to upgrade to Charge 6 specially if it's on sale but it's a shame if it will have the same issue.

My Charge 6 has gone back for replacement. I think there is a QC issue on these devices, customer service looked at my battery history and said, you have battery issue, send it back for replacement. So bow justbwaiting on my replacement device.

I have now been using my replacement device for just over a week and have had no issues with it so far. Have been getting just over 6 days battery life. The only issue was I could not get it to connect on the first attempt, but resetting the Charge 6 on the charging cable and waiting for the prompt on the phone to pop up worked.

I’ve got the same problem. Contacted them a few times. Done all the things suggested but it still goes dead after less than an hour or doesn’t charge at all. This morning I charged it to 100% but it’s dead. I contacted them a few times but they just said they would send a discount voucher for me to buy  new one! This is my third! Very disappointed. I told them that loads of people have the same issue after the up date, but she just said she would pass the information on.
Awful service

Hello @Hils22

Unfortunately, you will have keep pursuing this with Support. Since the Charge 6 was released October 2023, your device should still be under warranty depending on when you purchased it.

Keep contacting Support until you get an agent who is willing to check your device to see if it has a defective battery and provide you with the correct warranty options.

Unfortunately it it out of Warranty. They only give a year. This is my third fitbit. The others broke too. Unfortunately, I can’t find an alternative

Hello @Hils22

Which Fitbit device do you have? A Charge 6 should still be under warranty since it hasn't been a year since it was released.
