Having had Charge 6 for a week battery life is about a week. What’s going on?

If it lasts only a day you should contact customer support. I'm testing battery life now and since full charge it's been 3 days and 22 hours with 5h30m of exercise (3h30m of running with GPS in 'Phone' mode and with Always-On display during exercise), SpO2 enabled. Right now, the battery percentage shows 50%. There must be a problem with your Charge 6.

I agree with @Triletics . Your Charge 6 should typically last more than a day. You might want to check to make sure that your device doesn't have some of the power draining features turned on. This help page has tips on which features to disable: Tips to extend Fitbit battery life

If your device continues to drain in about a day after you make changes, you should contact Fitbit support (<-- click link)
