Bluetooth doesn't show as connected

My phone (Oneplus Nord 2) is connected to my charge 6, i can change backgrounds, get steps etc but it doesn't show in my bluetooth list as connected, just as a saved device.
Consequently, "find my phone" does not work, neither does google pay.
Ive tried speaking to tech and they just say pair/unpair7restart etc.
I bought this watch in January, I hoped an update might fix this but nothing.

Should the charge 6 show as a connected device in my bluetooth list, as my pixel watch 2 does?

Your charge may not be currently connected. This a a Bluetooth Low Energy device and only needs to be connected during the micro second for communication. Staying connected, will quickly deplete the battery.

My issue is that the "find my phone" does not work, neither does the google wallet although my bank is supported, i have it on my Pixel watch 2.
So, the fitbit charge 6 shouldn't show as connected to bluetooth then?
