It looks like the ability to do this has disappeared since I transferred over to Google. The forums all suggest

Best AnswerOkay! Another responder had the answer! Copied and pasted here with additional steps/edits added:
1 In the app click on ‘you’ at the bottom or your google icon in the top right corner (the google icon worked for me)
2 Click on fitbit settings in the window that pops up
3 Scroll down to nutrition and weight
click on goal weight
usual choices from there.
Shout out to Hickles for finding the path. 🙂
I switched over to google today and am also frustrated with not being able to find familiar settings, specifically setting a calorie deficit. Also frustrating is finding instructions in the community section for settings that don't actually exist.

Do I need to switch to Google for this? I know the old path but I am running into the same issue.
Best AnswerHi @Hopefolan You must set up a food plan in order to set a calorie deficit. It doesn't require switching to Google. This expanded Help article shows the path for both Fitbit and Google accounts. iPhone users can set a calories to consume goal without a food plan. Do you use an iPhone? If so, that explains it.

Hi everybody, Thanks for stopping by, I hope you're doing well.
Let me clarify some details about this topic.

I have tried all of these options. The only thing it lets me do is change the amount of calories that I want to take in. It will not let me do a deficit. It continues to revert back to the original deficit
My app doesn't have anything that says today I just have a profile picture

I have walked through these steps repeatedly today and it keeps automatically switching back to a goal of 1,500 intake, vs. the deficit number I have selected. My phone and app are both up to date. Is this a bug on FitBit's end?
I am having the same issue, I’m able to go through and select the calorie deficit and then it automatically just switches back to a set number! Very frustrating as on workout days I like to get more and on recovery days go with less as I burn much less! Hope they fix this soon!

I'm sorry for any trouble. I appreciate your patience and we look forward to getting you back on track.
Happy to hear you are working on it. I thought I was going crazy but at least I know it’s not just me. I choose calorie deceit but it just reverts back to number of calories.
