Hello. I currently have a Charge 3 and am going to get a Charge 6 really soon. I have been wearing it more often including at work. Because of this, I have been washing my hands and my Fitbit with soap and water. I have been also hand sanitizing it and taking a shower with it and cleaning it with soap and water. Is it ok if it comes into contact with soap and hand sanitizer? I know that I did some research and it said no but I always make sure to wash off the soap and dry it afterwards.

@Snow343you might want to experiment to see what works best for you. It's probably fine no matter how you do it.

Hi @Snow343 you read the official Fitbit information? https://www.fitbit.com/global/us/product-care
I use a baby wipe or if it's really germy, rubbing alcohol and then wipe it dry.

How often can you do the rubbing alcohol? Could you do it everyday as long as you dry it off

@Snow343I alternate. If it seems I was around more germs, I use the rubbing alcohol. Baby wipes or antibacterial wipes I use most of the time. If I don't use those, I just wipe it off with a damp soft washcloth. As long as it's wiped off, it's worked well for me with various styles of Fitbits over ten years.

What about a 70% alcohol pad? Could I do that once everyday?

@Snow343it's honestly up to what you feel is best. I've used those pads too and they work well. I tend to use rubbing alcohol around the house to clean my mirrors, so I have it in a spray bottle. As long as you wipe it off, it should be fine. The article on how to care for your Fitbit might have helpful tips in it, too.

Thank you for your help. I have two more quick questions?
Could I use the wipes on the main part where the screen and the charging ports are? I think it’s called the hub or whatever it is called
Since alcohol wipes dry quickly, do you have to dry it afterwards?

@Snow343I do use the alcohol on the pebble (that's what Fitbit calls it) and then make sure it's dry. You're right, it does dry quickly.

So since it drys quickly, how concerned should I be about drying it afterwards? What would happen if you don’t

So nothing bad will happen to the Fitbit if I don’t dry it off

Sorry @Odyssey13, my last reply was actually a question to you. I forgot to add a question mark. I will repeat the question down below

@Snow343for ten years I've used the methods mentioned above to clean my Fitbits. They all made it through just fine. I just prefer to wipe my screen portion off so there are no smears later - like water spots on a glass.
