I want my watch to always default to the time and not show exercise tracking any time I’m moving. I’m happy for it to track exercise but I’d like it to do that in the background. Is there any way to do this?

Hello @T-C-S and welcome to the Community. Your Charge 6 has a feature called SmartTrack that automatically tracks certain activities in the background. They are walk, run, outdoor bike, elliptical, sports, aerobic workout, and swimming. Everything else needs the Exercise app. It must run in the foreground. The screen shows a top, middle, and bottom stat. The current time is one of the middle stats. You need to tap or swipe on the middle stat to scroll through all the stats.

@LZeeW Thank you for your help .
@T-C-S , a warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your message.
Just adding to LZeeW 's info. On the exercise app on the Charge 6 go to Run/Walk and Biking. Swipe up and turn off the run detect, walk detect and biking detect options so that the Charge 6 doesn't start a recording when detecting these 3 activities. This is additional to the instructions provided by LZeeW .

Even with these switched off often when you go to check the time it will just be giving you some BS like an arrow or some other spam but personally I would not fixate on it showing the time

@Edword , Thank you for your comment. You might be looking at the different core stats (active zone minutes, burned calories, steps, etc) . You can scroll/interchange between them by tapping on the display.
You can always change the clock face that might better fit your needs. How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?
