Changing Lap Distances

Why is there not an option to track .25mi laps? A fitness tracker that can't even track a track's lap is kind of pointless. I need to know my 1.5mi time and I'd like to see how my time progresses per lap. Can't really do that when the smallest lap distance is 1mi. The lack of foresight here blows my mind for how much these things cost

Hello @HolySpoodle and welcome to the Community.  I apologize if I misread what you wrote.  Competitive running changed to metric distances in about 1980.  Just about every outdoor track built after 1980 has a 400 meter lap, not 0.25 mile.  This might explain the lack of a 0.25 mi lap.

I use a Sense 2 and my lap options might be different from yours.  I can track my laps in metric distance, even if I use miles every day.  I don't know if this feature is available on the Charge 6 or not.  My Sense 2 also has a manual count option for laps.  I don't know if this is available on the Charge 6 either.

@LZeeW I don't have Charge 6 on me right now but on my Sense the mile laps start from 1 mile. But I have a choice and can use km and shortest distance is 400m (which is 0.248mi - close enough).

@HolySpoodle set a lap in km to 400m, it's 0.248mi.

Changed my units to metric and it just changed to 1km I don't see any options to change to anything smaller. If I'm going to use metric I'd probably rather use 500m anyways since my preferred running distance is 5k. But I very specifically need to know my 1.5mi. I'm not using it for track and field running. I have fitness tests for work and we don't always run it on a track
