We’re excited to announce that a firmware update version 210.26 for Charge 6 has been released to all our members. Some of you might already have this update available. If you installed it, let us know what you think!

We release updates to customers in phases. If you don’t see it, check the Fitbit app in a few days, and you’ll see a message when you can install the update. We appreciate your patience while we get this update to all of our customers.

*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

  • Your device can now auto-recognize 6 new workout types: running, walking, biking, elliptical, rowing, and spinning.

Is this upgrade what caused the problem with the app step count being so much higher than what's on my Charge 6?  I have read other posts that Fitbit is working on a fix for this, hope it happens soon!

My daily walks are no longer being recognized in the activity log; now only shown in miles and steps. So I can’t add the activity because it will add to the miles and make it inaccurate.  Please advise.

Hi Fitbit,

Since the update I am convinced there's been an improvement to synching so big thumbs up from me.

BUT I'm not so sure about GPS - did my regular run yesterday but my Charge 6 failed to record my route/map/cardio etc. as if GPS failed to connect which it's never done before. I'll make a special effort to check GPS is connected next time (normally I just hit start and go).... If this is a trend I'll let you know!

Thanks for the synching though, big improvement 🙂

Same issue with my Charge 6 not recording my walks accurately! It also no longer records that I even took a 6 mile walk in the exercise log area, and if I add the activity it then shows I walked 12 miles…  All my walks have been erased in my activity log from prior weeks too.  so my weekly progress email is going to show I wasn’t active at all.  This update definitely screwed things up!!!! Wish I never installed it.

After my update I start to receive more prompts for pressing start button for excersise, to share my pulse with application during excersise- want to set to yes permanently,  not getting prompted each time. And what is worst one, I am getting warning- no Bluetooth connection, however Bluetooth is totally fine, and sync outside of excersises works fine.

Is there any solution?

My Fitbit started malfunctioning the last few days. first, I would mostly have a fuzzy grey screen and the device would stop responding. Then, the display would come back, but only with green, or green tinted color most of the time. Is this just a coincidence, or was it caused by the update?

GPS worked fine yesterday, same run but I did make sure to be connected before setting off.

Activity is not transferring to the app on iphone, total steps default to the exact same number each day for the past week and the total calorie expenditure is almost double what it should be.  When will there be an app update to correct this ?!?!?

Yeah same here after this last update, my fitbit went from lasting 5 days + on a single charge to barley lasting 6 hours. I bought my fitbit in January so feels crazy soon for the battery to not make it though a day.

I'm having a similar issue. Two days of bicycle riding don't show in the activity section of the app. Today I was riding for four hours, sixty miles and the watch was tracking heart rate speed etc. Then nothing in the app. No chance to up load to strava. Off topic sort of. I bought this charge 6 because my charge 5 unexpectedly bricked this summer. So did my daughters.

I traveled from Germany to Croatia, as I have done several times this year, and the ECG on my Charge 6 always worked in Croatia. This time, however, I was told that the ECG was not approved and that I therefore could not use it. I am a German citizen, have a German fitbit Premium account and a German Android installation. I urgently need the ECG! Please make this function available to me again immediately.

Soooo, since I did the update, in my LOSEIT! app, it's showing over 2000 bonus calories for exercise that I didn't do.  Right after daily reset, bam! 2000 bonus calories.  This is really annoying.  And I know I'm not the only one this is happening to.  All of this because of the new update.  Please tell me there is going to be a fix for this soon...

Since the update, when walking/running or even cycling, the heart rate displayed is often too high because steps or vibrations are counted as a heartbeat. That's a real nuisance!!!!

Update: Due to the problem mentioned above, the Charge 6 is actually not usable in everyday life and the incorrectly increased heart rates make all FITBIT analyses based on it useless. The Charge 6 and Fitbit are now good for the trash can!

The update must be undone! Before the update, the Charge 6 was halfway usable!

Any way to revert to previous version? Battery life has tanked and the interface on the phone is just getting worse. Setting a min HR at 25 means that chart is useless to me and sleep has been acting wonky. Also seems to be having HR tracking issues while I'm exercising - pretty sure my mom the other day was not in the middle of a bike ride.

I've had a fit it over 10 years and this may be the update that sends me elsewhere

-------

Also had to fight with the thing for about an hour to get it to sync at all today. Restart unit. Uninstall and reinstall app. Change clock face. Repeat about 3 times before it decided to work

I'm dealing with the same thing. Looking for a helpful solution

Unfortunately, I don't think there is anything we can do but wait for a software and or firmware update to be provided by Fitbit/Google.
