Charge 6 Nervous Breakdown

I took a hike in the woods today for which the fitbit credited me for a hour and 28 minute swim. Somewhere along the line it must have noticed there isn't any water on Blue Mountain so it also awarded 5531 steps and 2.57 miles. Another app on the phone came up with 11020 steps and 5.04 miles which is closer to reality.

So, how does a fitbit figure you're swimming? Sometimes but not always it determines I'm walking.

Did you take your hike with trekking poles? Charge 6 recognizes ironing clothes as swimming. This is very similar wrist motion to walking with trekking poles.
