Charge 6 - battery draining rapidly

Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed a significant drop in battery life on my Fitbit Charge 6 over the past few days. The device, which was purchased in September 2024 and has been kept up to date with all firmware and app updates, now fully discharges in less than 24 hours — far from the expected 7-day battery life.

At the same time, I’ve observed a small icon on the screen: a phone with a line through it, which I understand indicates the device is not connected to my phone. This often appears when I’m away from my phone or out of Bluetooth range. I never noticed that before.

My question is:

Could this persistent disconnection/reconnection to the phone be causing abnormal battery drain?

Or is there potentially another issue at play?

All settings (location, always-on display, etc.) have remained consistent with past usage. I'd appreciate any insights from the community or Fitbit team — whether this is a known issue or if there are troubleshooting steps I might have missed.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Artyshow, welcome to  the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

Let me help you with the battery life your Charge 6 is presenting lately.

Usually, use and other settings affect battery life. However, a battery drain of 24 hours seems pretty severe. Do you often use the GPS feature ?

If you use built-in GPS continuously your Charge 6 has a battery life of up to 5 hours. For reference see Extend your Fitbit device's battery life

Regarding your question, a persistent disconnection/reconnection may impact the battery life but not at that level.

If you prefer to turn off these status indicators, you can follow the instructions in our help article How do I navigate my Fitbit device? > Charge 6 > Understand status indicators.

As a general troubleshooting i would suggest to restart your device if you haven't done so:

- Connect your device to the charging cable.
- Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times with one-second pause between each press. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

Hi David,

Thanks again for your support.

Unfortunately, despite restarting the device and confirming that no high-drain features are enabled, the battery continues to drop from full to 0% in less than 12 hours — with minimal use (just worn on the wrist, displaying time).

As the device is still under warranty, I’ll be returning it to the store where I purchased it. I’ll reassess whether to proceed with a swap or consider another model or brand depending on the options available.

Appreciate the assistance.

Best regards,

Arthur

Hi @Artyshow, thank you for your response. I'm sorry to hear the battery of your Charge 6 has decreased its performance.

I understand your decision. I would suggest as well, to contact our customer service support team. They count with better resources to research in depth.

In addition, if you purchased your device form an authorized retailer less that a year ago, you may get a benefit fron their end. I appreciate your time in this process.
