Charge 6 doesn't provide GPS map

ANSWERED

on my old sense 2 when I started and ended a walk I could see a little map of my route in the Fitbit app. I don’t get this when I start a walk on my charge 6? It is sold as having GPS and I have my connected phone on me as well, any reason why?

Hi @Jonwal.

Have you made sure that GPS is enabled? I believe it's disabled by default.

Oh blimey, you have to do that every walk/run or it remembers your default?

It should remember the setting.

This is a big deal, thanks!

Dang. Was I just inattentive on my Charge 5 or are there a lot more per-exercise options with the 6? Turning GPS on/off, auto-pause, auto-stop, HRZ notifications, etc.

Yep! After my last fitbit update, 3 or 4 days ago, my maps quit showing. Check all the phone settings and they were correct. After your hint I checked my fitbit. Sure enough, it was off. I remember using that setting when I first got the maps working, but easy to forget and not easy to locate on the device. Google doesn't mention it either in the help areas. Big Thanks!

Yes unfortunately it's not the most intuitive UI. When things are hidden away like this it would be best to have a quick animation the first few times showing that the screen can be swiped up.

Did all of that, and it's worked in the past, but didn't get any GPS data on my last run.

"Connected GPS is running" message appeared on my phone.

It also wouldn't connect to YouTube, kept telling me to open it on my phone, which it was. I listened to music my whole run that was not downloaded on my phone. So I know I had data.

I'd use the built in GPS, but it isn't accurate.

Have had this Charge 6 for a week and I like the tracker, but this app is horrible. The amount of work I have to do to get the data to appear accurately between Health Connect, Fit, and Fitbit is ridiculous. I should be able to see everything in just the Fitbit app. How does this company get away with this insanity? Luckily I have a 30 day return window if it doesn't get better.
