Charge 6 is not tracking my sleep data when using CPAP machine

Just started using cpap machine but my charge 6 did not provide sleep data. It started recording again after i turned the cpap off. Only showed 1 hr 24 sleep. No sleep score or any other data. Charge 6 android phone galaxy s22. Cpap is lowenstein smart.

Update: Could this be the cpap mask?. The 1 I was using had magnetic fasteners. Could it interfere with the charge 6 if the wrist was too close to the magnets.

Hi there, @Geoffreyr. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm sorry to hear that your sleep data is missing when using the CPAP machine. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

Please keep in mind that strong magnets can disrupt sensor contact. That would explain why your Charge 6 is likely failing to record sleep data while using the CPAP mask. With that being said, ensure the watch is snug, placed at least an inch above your wrist bone, and not directly contacting the magnetic fasteners.

Key Troubleshooting Steps:
  • Magnet Interference: The magnets on CPAP masks (like those on some Lowenstein models) can cause issues if the tracker gets too close. Ensure your Fitbit device stays on the opposite side of your wrist from the mask magnets.
  • Wear it Snug: Ensure your Charge 6 is secured properly—not too tight, but firm—to maintain consistent heart rate signals, which are crucial for sleep stage detection.
  • Wait for Data Sync: The Fitbit app can take several hours (sometimes until late morning) to process sleep data and show a full report.
  • Restart Tracker: If the issue persists, try restarting your Charge 6. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  • Check App Settings: Verify that sleep tracking is enabled within the Fitbit app.
