Charge 6 is undercounting steps

This hasn't happened before. I walk and count out 50 steps, and it has counted 27. A bit later, I just walk up two flights of stairs, 20 steps, and it has counted 6. I jog in place for 25 steps just to test it (swinging my arms pretty vigorously) and it shows 14. I just recently charged it and the battery is over 80% (if that matters).

Welcome back to the community forums @YEM

Thank you for taking the time to provide those details. I truly regret the inconvenience you're experiencing with your Charge 6.

Please, make sure that you are usgin the latest version of the Fitbit app and that your device is up to date.

Hello @YEM

If you haven't already done so, you could try restarting your Charge 6.

The other thing that I would check is your stride length in the Fitbit app:

  • Tap your avatar in the upper right of the Today page in the Fitbit app
  • Tap Fitbit settings in the menu that opens
  • Under Preferences, tap Activity
  • Scroll up to Feature Settings and confirm that Stride length is set to Automatic

If that doesn't help improve your step tracking, you could try manually setting your stride length. This help page (<-- click) has the instructions on how to manually set up your stride length.
