Charge 6 no longer tracking workouts

I've had my Charge 6 for about three months.

I use it to track my workouts – lifting weights in the gym, running, climbing, etc. Today, suddenly all my non-walking activities/workouts started disappearing from the Fitbit app. As I moved back through the weeks, they would briefly appear and disappear. I have now lost weeks of workouts. However, bizarrely, all the walking activities remain!

I went to the gym today, tracked the workout as usual by starting the activity on the watch, completed the workout, and synched the Fitbit with my phone. The workout just disappeared, and Fitbit said I had 0 exercise for the day. I just went for a walk and it logged the walk perfectly.

I have tried updating the Fitbit, restarting the Fitbit, restarting my phone, looking on the browser dashboard on my laptop. Nothing. I just want to log my workouts!

Can anyone help or advise?

I see my steps now! I can't wait to see if my walk is recorded in the
morning. Good luck everyone.

I just looked at the app and my walk from today is on the app. The timing is so weird. I just purchased a replacement device this afternoon. 🤷🏼‍:female_sign:

I am still unable to "share" my exercises.  Will this feature be restored?

Also, some historical exercises are showing duration time as "654 months, 3 days".  Will this be fixed?

@Petunialilly @Leah_C @Lexiedogg , Thank you for your replies and confirmations. I'm glad that the issue got solved.

@Sho311 , Nice to see you around. Thank you for your messages.
I'd like to ask you to keep the thread on topic. If you are having difficulties with other features, please open a new thread or post on the thread dedicated to that issue.
This will help us keep the Community in order and avoid confusion . On this thread we will only be sharing updates about the activities tracked by the Charge 6.

Thank you. My exercises came back today. I was extremely close to ordering a competitor's device. I can't yet share my routes to Facebook as I could before, but at least I can see the data.

i am still experiencing all of these problems, workouts not syncing, logged workouts disappearing etc... And now the watch and the app seem to be double counting steps. At 7:00am this morning both indicated i had approx 8,000 steps already. While i would love for that to be true, my 30 minute walk is typically somewhere around 4,000 steps. i have tried reseting, resyncing, all of the things...

i am so tired of buying new fitbit watches...it may be time to move on.

I installed the firmware on the watch. Also restart your phone.

I did the update everyone was so excited about. No help. All my exercise thru August 18th is gone and new exercise started and stopped manually on the watch does not work. Nor will my cycling from peloton sync. Basically shows no exercise for almost 2 months despite exercising every day.

An article I read today said that Google is shutting down fitbit.com in September, shut down the dashboard this summer, and everyone is having massive issues with basic functionality. Coincidence??

I am sorry you are still having problems. I too have been with Fitbit for a long time. The firmware update to my device and a restart of my phone was successful for me but only after they fixed it. Prior to that nothing they suggested worked. The most frustrating thing about this glitch was the lack of input from Fitbit. Now there are entries on this thread from Fitbit.

I've been experiencing the same issue with my Charge 2 on version 4.28 of Fitbit app for Android. It tracks steps and auto logs walking, but none of my manually tacked workouts on my watch appear in the app.

Frustrating! About 2 weeks ago mine finally started acting normal again,
after I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, twice.

Hello @MariaB1

I've read recent Moderator posts acknowledging that the latest app version, 4.28, didn't fix the known issue with seeing completed workout data in the app for all users. They have shared the user reports with Support so that the team can continue to work on fixing the problem.

At this point, there aren't any troubleshooting steps we can recommend since the issue is on the Fitbit side.

Just to let you know I am also very dissapointed with the latest Fitbit. I have a Charge 6. I have been using Fitbits for 8 years now. I think things had finally peeked with the Charge 5 where I very rarely, if ever had any issues. The Charge 6 is fraught with issues that keep happening, from not tracking correctly to not tracking at all to not syncing corrrectly etc. There are numerous other niggles which have made it frustrating to use. I am not an avid fitness person but I am using mine for tracking walks and the odd run, plus I am doing a coastal path challenge near where I live and it has missed (or messed up) two sections. Very frustrating. I am in the same place as you. The unit is not managing its core function at all well.

I have both Charge 5 and 6. Unfortunately, it’s the app technology itself
that is a bigger disappointment. Hopefully, they give me a full refund for
the new charge I purchased thinking that would rectify the problems I have
been having since August.

I agree, it's definitely an app issue. My 6 tracked things but didn't sync
with the app. It's a sad thing since no issues when Fitbit ran it but once
ate h giant takes over things go sideways. Good luck!

Just noticed this issue as well. On top of that when I tried to log a workout manually it wouldn’t. I had to restart my phone and after an hour or so saw the logged workout. Today, I manually started interval training and when I finished, the watch looked like I never started the activity… my app reflected 9 mins of the 35 I did. What a drag… time to switch to a different tracker? IWatch maybe?

Frustrating for sure! I was days away from switching when I decided to try
uninstalling the app from my phone and reinstalling. I ended up doing it
twice and now seems to be behaving the same or close to the same as prior
to the meltdown.

Hi everybody ! Thank you for your messages. Our Team released a new app version for Android users. (4.28.3) please make sure that you all have it installed.
This should solve the issue of synchronizing the activities from your Charge 6.
