Hello there @HiroCRG5 and welcome to the Fitbit community! Thank you for your question.

Have you tried to start the swimming activity by tapping on "start now" or have you let your Charge 6  automatically track the swimming mode?

I recommend you to read this article about how to track swim with Fitbit devices.

I have checked all recommended settings and have them correctly designated. Here are my issues:

1. If I manually start the swimming, stats record on the watch, but heart rate never registers on the phone app, nor the stats. And cardio load doesn't register

2. If I let auto pick up the swimming, my heart rate is identified but I still don't see any stats on the phone app and sometimes it thinks I'm doing a different activity.

I bought the charge 6 specifically for swimming. Maybe there's a better model? At this point, I'm disappointed.

Hello @Carlaswim

This help page on Cardio Load (<-- click link) explains that cardio load doesn't accumulate during swimming since heart rate tracking is disabled during the activity. This is why you don't see a heart rate graph or Cardio Load for your swimming sessions.

All Fitbit devices, including the Pixel Watches, will not show a heart rate graph or Cardio Load for a swimming activity.

Hi

I have a few issues and questions.

I swim, walk and do the occasional aerobic workouts

On my old lux I used to hit a target of 50 or more for cardio load with my new Charge 6 I am barely getting 10.

I have seen people say heart rate is not recorded while swimming, but activity level is recorded

On the luxe as well my activity level was recorded

If I auto detect a swim activity levels are recorded

Today I tried manually starting a swim resulting in no record for activity levels. Why should the record have less information for a manually started swim?

What can I do to rectify this. Could it be my band it too loose?

When cardio load first came in we had to wait several weeks while Fitbit gathered data on our activity before it gave ua a target load.

Am I going through all that again because I have bought a new Fitbit?

I am also not sure a threshold of 96 for moderate activity is right for my age group.

When I look at the Set Max Heart Rate page of settings it simply says "Required" should I be entering a figure of 220 minus my age in this box? I thought this was set automatically from my profile.

Any answers gratefully received

Best

Dan
