Charge 6 not syncing sleep data unless I log out

Charge 6 will not sync sleep data and readiness data unless I log out of the fitbit app, relog in. And redo the Bluetooth permission upon logging in. If I don't do this, it will just show I got no sleep dispite it sending my sleep data to the phone app. Dunno why it can only sync one way.

Hello @Hainami

This help page has the recommended troubleshooting steps to try: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? (<-- click link)

Just to let you know, I've noticed that it often takes awhile for my sleep data, all the health metrics, and readiness score to show up in the app in the morning. Sometimes, it can take almost an hour before I see all my health metrics in the app.

I waited 5 hours for it to sync. Did not work until I logged out of the phone app and logged back in. The data went straight to the app, but never once sent back to the watch.

Hello @Hainami

Thank you for providing the additional information. Your sleep data should have definitely synced within 5 hours. It is baffling why you have to log out and back to get your data to sync.

Out of curiosity, are you an Android or iOS user? Also, what version of Android/iOS do you have on your phone?

It took about 12 hours, but it finally synced on its own. Didn't change anything. I woke up at 7:30am and I checked it at 3pm today and it still wasn't synced. Checked just now and it's finally there. 7:30pm

I got a pixel 7, and I'm on the newest security patch that released last week.

Hi @Hainami

I'm glad to see that your sleep data finally synced. However, it's surprising that it took that long.

I know there's an update for the Fitbit Android app to version 4.08, which is gradually rolling out. Hopefully, that might fix the sync issue.

One of the things that can happen on Android (probably on iOS too but I don't have an iphone) is so-called battery optimization. Various things can happen in order to minimize battery usage by apps, such as not letting them use data while running in the background, or not letting them run in the background at all. This would interfere with syncing, as well as things like sending notifications. You may want to go into your app settings, find fitbit, and look for any kind of battery saving settings (my phone is Samsung and I believe the specifics are different from stock Android so I can't be more specific than that).
