Purchased fibit6 last week, expecting good upgrade from my Fitbit 2, had more problems in 5 days than ever had with Fitbit2...seems not fit for purpose as many bugs in it...cumulative steps, features not available, now won't sync. If not fixed in 2 days will return as defective

Hello @Bruno19
There is currently a known issue with syncing Fitbit devices to the app for some Android users. See message from Fitbit Support page below.
So far, I haven't see a timeline for the fix.
You mention features not available. Please let us know which ones you're looking for.
Also, what issue are you seeing with cumulative steps?
Edited to add:
Please see the Moderator's post from today (29 Oct 2024) on this thread (<-- click link). She states that the fix is rolling out in app version 4.28.2.
The app updates usually roll out in waves. Keep checking the Play Store for the update and install it when it's available for you.
If you're still seeing the syncing issue after installing the update, please let us know.

Hi @Bruno19
Unfortunately, the altimeter which is used for stair tracking was removed from both the Charge 5 & 6.
Glad to see that the step issue seems to be resolved.
Regarding the syncing issue, I had edited my previous reply to let you know that the fix is rolling out in an app update to version 4.28.2. Keep checking the app store for it.

Hello @Bruno19
There's been a known issue on the Fitbit side with step tracking. It's been on-going for several weeks. Although there have been several recent app updates, the updates haven't fixed the problem for everyone.
At this point, there isn't any troubleshooting we can recommend for the syncing and step tracking issues since the problem is on the Fitbit side.

RiekoC,
What do you mean the problem is on the Fitbit side, do you mean the device? Or your software?

Hello @Bruno19
In this particular case, the issue was with the Fitbit app.
From what I'm seeing, the newest Android Fitbit app update, version 4.28.3, has resolved the syncing/pairing issue for most users.
If you haven't updated your Fitbit app yet, please check the Play Store and install the update once it's available to you.
Let us know if you're still experiencing a syncing/pairing issue after installing version 4.28.3.
