Charge 6 reached a heart rate of 200+

ANSWERED

Just before bed last night, while doing nothing but sitting, my Charge 6 reached 213BPM and stayed in the 200's for about 5min. I did not feel anything, and grabbed my chest strap to try and compare, but did not get to it in time before the pulse returned to normal range.

Is there anything known at this point about high BPM or issues with Charge 6?

I run 3-5k a day (not an Olympic pace, but still 5:30 a km). My heart stays between 150bpm 160bpm.

Before I run off to the doctor, is there anything anyone may know or have experienced, since getting onto the charge 6?

Cheers

Seems like a fluke. I experience very high HR during all my runs, even easy ones when my HR doesn't reach 150bpm. In my case, I know what causes high HR - my cadence. However, it shows that once Charge 6 locks onto some high-frequency signal it doesn't let it go for quite a while. It might be something like that happened to you, too. Just examples from my three random runs:

All those runs are easy, with a low average HR under 150bpm. Those high HR segments match my 195spm cadence. No way to fix it. I tried two more Charge 6 and same results. I think something similar may have happened to you, just the source of the signal was something else, Charge 6 locked onto it and eventually let go.

I have also experienced these spikes while sitting around and doing nothing. The only reason I knew it was happening was that my watch buzzed to tell me I was earning Zone Minutes while ensconced in my favourite chair.

Oh wow. I notice those dips at the start of your run also. I've noticed that on mine as well. It seems the algorithm might mistake arm swing or motion as boxing or something. I really have no idea!

Thanks for getting back to me. Even in the military, I don't think I've ever gone over 200. I'd like to think if I was just sitting around I would feel different with 200bpm.

Cool. Thanks for letting me know. I'll keep an eye on it. Like I mentioned above. I think 200 plus would not physically go unnoticed for 5min. I just happened to look down and see it.

That is really weird because it just happened to me and it's scary cuz I felt fine. I have a panic and anxiety disorder and I am freaking out now. Supposedly start at 11:03 and ended at 11:13. Looked at my watch and it was going up and down up and down. Try to get on to the app quick and it was doing some weird crap. Just started a new medication and I got really dizzy after that

is this normal for this crap to happen or did it actually happen to me? I'm just sitting here before bed

That's weird that happened to me a couple days ago sitting down and somehow I got 20 active zone minutes

I got your messages.. This doesn't seem to go away, just attacks at random. I even switched back to my Versa # because of it. Still random spikes, although not hitting 200. Interestingly, when I went to my cardiologist to do a treadmill stress test, the 8 lead monitor they hooked me up up read 20 beats higher than the Fitbit. My deduction is that the Fitbit monitors are a guide and nothing else. I am trying not to take these readings seriously. Hard to do, I may just ditch the Fitbit (after 9 years) and go back to wearing a watch.

This happened to me last night, my heart rate suddenly went up to 213 when I was sitting in the chair.
I then took my blood pressure which was high but the pulse was 77. Went to the hospital but everything was ok. Do I dare to use my fitbit again? This worries me!

Interesting that several folks have 213 as the high water mark. That is a little too coincidental for an old programmer.

I've been using Fitbit for years and am suddenly having the elevated heart rate issue. One morning at work it was 145 and wouldn't go down.  I manually took my pulse and was in the 60's but and when I looked at the Fitbit again it was back to normal. Tonight I exercised and it behaved as expected but then spiked to 180 when much later I was just sitting.  I just restarted the device and will see how things go tomorrow. But if this continues I will not wear it.  I will also check with my doctor to make sure all is ok

This happened to me last night. I was watching tv and my watch was buzzing like mad. I had no symptoms of a problem and it’s put me off Fitbit. I may go back to my apple watch

I'm back on the charge 4 now. It was always the toughest out of the lot. No more crazy spikes, but they have a problem with the blood oxygen not showing now. Fitbit really lost it.

Hi so do you think it’s a glitch in the system? I also just got a notification of 213…

Yes. Several people have posted the same number.

Kind of an otherwise clause.

Hej

Ja det verkar troligt. Fitbit borde åtgärda problemet.

I have similar issues with my heart rate too sometimes. What do I do about it?

I read that you should restart the Fitbit and synch it every day. I still get occasional spikes
