Charge 6 screen turns off while interacting with it

ANSWERED

I recently got a Charge 6 but I'm having trouble doing things with it. Frequently the screen turns off while I am interacting with it setting alarms, music controls, changing face displays, etc. I haven't been able to find anyone else talking about similar trouble and I'm wondering if anyone here has any ideas
