Charge 6 showing Fitbit logo

My FitBit Charge 6 is non-responsive. It displays only the logo -- nothing else; it charges, but will not connect to the App.  I have tried the reset (pushing the button on the charger), and that flashes the logo but does nothing else -- the logo is the only thing that displays. I've let it go unconnected for days at a time to try to get the battery entirely discharged, hoping that would enable a restart.

Very frustrated. . . what can be done?

A warm welcome to the community forums @ToddW62

Thank you for taking the time to share with me the information regarding the difficulty that you are experiencing with Charge 6. Thank you for trying to fix it on your own.

Please follow the steps listed here below:

1. Sync the device in the Fitbit app.

  • From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap Devices.
  • Chooose the Charge 6.
  • Tap Sync Now.

2. Check for available Firmware updates.

  • With the Fitbit device nearby, open the Fitbit app (make sure the Fitbit device is charged).
  • Tap the Today Tab > Devices > your device.
  • Tap Update (This option only appears if an update is available).

Follow the on-screen instructions: Keep the Fitbit device close to your phone during the update. When the update starts, a progress bar appears on the device and in the Fitbit app until the update is complete.

3. Charge the device:

  • Double-check the connection: Ensure secure connection to the charging cable and that the cable is plugged into a working USB port (computer or UL-certified wall charger).

If these steps don't work:

4. Restart the device: Keep in mind that your data won't be deleted: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

5. Changing the clock face via the Fitbit app can sometimes resolve a black screen issue:

  • Open the Fitbit app.
  • Choose Device Settings.
  • Navigate to the clock face options and try selecting a different clock face.

This does not help. The device does not connect to anything via Bluetooth (as near as I can tell -- the app indicates that it's disconnected and attempts to connect via Bluetooth through the app are unsuccessful) - so any solution that leverages the app will not work. The only thing that displays when it is attached to the charging cable is the FitBit logo -- not the charging/battery status or the clock or anything else. When I do the manual reset (either pushing the button or disconnecting the cord), it "resets" back to the logo (i.e., the screen goes dark, then the logo returns).  Any other ideas?

thanks -- t.

Hello @ToddW62

There's an unconventional troubleshooting method that you might want to consider. A Charge 5 user was able to get their device working again after exposing it to the freezer temps. This thread (<-- click) has the process they used. This unconventional method has worked for some, but not all users. Although, there's no guarantee that this will work for your Charge 6, it might be worth a try.
